DESCRIPTION:
- In Polar Footsteps, get a collection of sounds from my wanderings in the far north and far south. Hear crampons crunching on soft summer ice and the intense popping resonance of microspikes echoing in ice caves in winter. Hear icy footsteps recorded with hydrophones (from below lake ice) and resonant icicles falling into crevasses as I struggle to climb out of the abyss.
- I didn't set out to record footsteps, but after 3 years of exploring polar regions I amassed a lot of sounds from my crunchy hikes on ice. I hope you enjoy listening to the natural music of glaciers in Greenland, Iceland, and Patagonia.
