DESCRIPTION:
Imagine you're at 8,000 feet on a lava flow so recent, it's almost still warm. There's a massive 14,000 ft volcano on either side of you. And where you're standing there are many overlapping flows of different ages, that make up a multicolored lava field. I place the mics in lava caves, small lava tubes, and scrappy brush...and in delicate deciduous trees that somehow grow straight outta the lava.
Out of nowhere, wind whips across the landscape and knocks me over, and I cut my hand on the sharp lava rocks. Ah, I've gotten blood on the microphone furry again... that's always hard to wash out. These giant volcanoes that stick up outta the Pacific Ocean, definitely make their own weather and it's powerful to hear. That's a wrap on my 135th sound library from the natural world, and I hope you enjoy listening. I'll talk to you again soon.
